Musée Picasso

One artist's work, filling a 17th-century mansion.

Musée Picasso

The Musée Picasso holds the largest public collection of Picasso's work anywhere, built almost entirely from pieces the artist kept for himself and that his family later gave to France in lieu of inheritance tax. Housed in the Hôtel Salé, a grand 17th-century mansion in the Marais, it traces his entire career — Blue Period through Cubism to his final decades — without needing to borrow from anyone else's collection.

Hours
10:30–18:00 (until 18:30 weekends), closed Mondays
Price
€16, free first Sunday of the month (Oct–Mar)
Tip
Buy tickets online — this is one of the Marais's most popular stops and same-day lines can be long on weekends.
