Claude Monet spent his final years painting his garden pond at Giverny obsessively, and personally worked with the architect to design two oval rooms lit by natural skylights specifically to display the results. Walk into either room and you're surrounded on all sides by Water Lilies — no frames interrupting the view, exactly as Monet planned it as a gift to France after World War I.
