Notre-Dame took nearly two centuries to build and burned in a single afternoon in April 2019. Five years and a small army of stonemasons, carpenters, and roofers later, it reopened in December 2024 looking almost exactly as it did before — down to the oak spire, rebuilt beam by beam with the same techniques used in the 1200s.
