The Thinker, sitting in a garden of roses.

Musée Rodin

Auguste Rodin lived and worked in this 18th-century mansion in his final years, and on his death donated his entire collection to France on the condition it become a museum. The result mixes indoor galleries of marble and bronze with a sculpture garden where The Thinker and The Gates of Hell sit outdoors among roses, exactly as Rodin intended his work to be seen.
